ABOUT MACALPINE

MacAlpine is known for throwing some of the most awesome parties around. Not only that, MacAlpine organises an amazing New Zealand tour each year which takes a group of 88 to Queenstown for 10 days in July!

Membership is compulsory for access to all of our trips, parties and special events! Each member will be entitled to: chances to win prizes, access to and subsidised prices for MacAlpine’s snow trips and free stuff during O-Week!

Jump over to our membership website to sign up for 2017. Our membership prices for 2017 are $15 for students, $50 for MQ alumni & $65 for non-MQ students/community. New & current members, as well as MQ alumni can sign up at secure.activecarrot.com/public/contract/application/382/44.

For the more serious skiers and boarders out there, MacAlpine also takes a competitive team to compete at the Australian University Championship Snow Games.

In 2017, the Games will be held at Thredbo! Last time we visited Thredbo in 2015, the club brought back some shiny medals and the coveted Spirit of the Mountain Award. We hope to dominate again this winter.

NEW ZEALAND TOUR

The annual countdown to NZ 2017 has officially begun! Each year MacAlpine takes 88 students to Queenstown for 10 days of havoc! Filled with skiing, boarding and, of course, drinking.

This trip is purely social so there’s no need to be able to ski or board - you can learn while you’re there!

The 2017 trip will be held from Thursday 13th July until Saturday 22nd July costing $1950. You must be a MacAlpine member to join the trip! Check out our membership section above for links to sign up! The trip includes:

• Return airfares direct to Queenstown;
• Return airport transfers in Queenstown;
• Excess baggage for your skis/boards;
• 9 nights accommodation in the centre of Queenstown (Base Discovery Lodge);
• 6 days skiing at all 4 resorts accessible from Queenstown;
• Daily door-to-door bus transfers to/from ski resorts;
• Team uniform (hoodie);
• 2 team pub crawls;
• Final night team dinner;
• 9 action filled nights in one of the craziest towns ever including drink deals;

• 10 unforgettable days!

If you enjoy snow sports, meeting new people, pushing it to the limits, or simply relaxing apres ski style after a long (or short) day on the hill, our Queenstown trip is definitely for you!

SNOW GAMES 2017

In 2009, MacAlpine was successful in becoming the overall Australian champions, and we’ll be looking for strong, competitive mountain-goers to make up our team for 2017!

In 2017, the competition will be held at Thredbo and MacAlpine is excited to head back to show each Australian University exactly what we are made of! The trip includes:

• 5 nights at Thredbo;
• Lift passes for 5 days on the mountain;
• Transport between Sydney and Thredbo;
• Food and beverage budget;
• Team uniform;
• Social pass!

All snow games participants will be invited to themed social events held each evening, as well as an invite to the exclusive black tie dinner held on the final night of the games!

If you think you have what it takes to help MacAlpine win a bunch of shiny medals in 2017, join the Snow Games team for an unforgettable week of action and fun!
